Equipment Technician

Work Schedule: 3rd shift-10:45 p. m.-6:45 a. m.-Sunday-Thursday

The main responsibility of the Equipment Technician is to assure that all machinery is maintained to proper electro/mechanical and safety standards. A detailed preventative maintenance schedule is outlined and must be adhered to and documented. The Equipment Technician is also responsible for machinery repair and monitoring repair and maintenance history in established maintenance logs.

Experience Required:

A successful candidate needs considerable exposure to and familiarity with technical maintenance. Must be able to perform fundamental technical maintenance tasks to install maintain, repair and assist in the overhaul production machinery and industrial equipment such as mail inserting equipment, printing and pre-sort equipment. Utilize fundamental skills and general knowledge of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, electro/mechanical or related.

Skills Desired:

Must have strong problem-solving skills and be able to identify and diagnose problems. Ability to work from verbal and written instructions, blueprints, operational tech/data drawings, simple schematics, and simple engineering data and from instruction manuals - all in English. Diagnoses malfunctions of equipment to determine the source of trouble and to determine the extent of repairs required, including electrical systems, geared units, and components. Tears down, adjusts repairs, reassembles, runs operational checks on equipment, and determines supplies and parts needed for repair of all equipment. Maintains maintenance records on all equipment repaired, annotating man-hours, materials, and date of repair.

Physical Requirements: Work requires incumbent to be mobile and in a standing / walking position with ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Uses hands to handle, finger, or feel objects and to perform keyboarding. Also uses hands and arms to reach and grab objects. Sometimes it is necessary to climb, stretch, crouch or kneel. Successful performance requires good vision abilities including close vision.

Position Qualifications:

Education & Experience: Generally high school vocational orientated background or related education is preferred, but not required. Typically, 3 months to 3 years performing similar duties or equivalent combination of education/experience is needed to successfully perform the job. Time classified in the specific job classifications does not automatically qualify an individual. In addition to the time guidelines, an individual must meet all other job requirements and a company approved job opening must exist. The incumbent needs some exposure to fast paced working environments.

Functional Area Skills/Knowledge: Requires very good working knowledge and experience with PC s keyboarding, data entry, and information lookup is necessary. Must quickly learn (within 2 weeks) to utilize the appropriate modules of the computerized business system and to update most required work data information. Requires ability to stay under control while working with continually changing multi task work assignments in a deadline work environment.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
