Business Performance Analyst

Description

The Business Performance Analyst will provide a
clear, holistic view of

the market and Vulcan s position within it. This leader
will assist management on

various business performance and marketing projects
by providing analysis and

reporting in the form of:

  • operating budgets
  • financial planning model
  • review of performance metrics (KPIs)
  • pricing and volume analysis
  • customer end use/ segment research
  • Cost analysis
  • Capital investment analysis
  • Strategic investment analysis
  • Additional Overview:

    Prepare
    relevant analytics on business performance on a regular cadence:

    weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc...

    Provide
    insight regarding drivers and potential improvement actions for Area and

    Plant
    financial performance on a regular schedule.

    Maintain
    high level of visibility in the field, visit plants and spend time with sales

    representatives and plant managers at regular intervals.

    Build
    monthly sales and quarterly financial forecast for GM, working with sales,

    operations, etc Own sales budgeting and
    forecasting work for the area.

    Work
    with General Manager to prepare communication regarding performance for

    Division
    President and sales/operational leadership teams on a monthly and

    quarterly
    basis, including analysis on volume, pricing, cost and market demand.

    Provide
    reporting/ analytics for quarterly and monthly reviews.

    Work
    with General, Area and Plant Managers to develop annual budget and area

    plan;
    provides analytic support in areas of plant/area performance, volume/pricing

    analysis.

    Provide
    analytic support as needed in the areas of process improvement and capital

    requests.

    Prepare
    marketing analytics (including pricing, volume, and backlog metrics) and

    distill
    to actionable items. Track
    progress against long and short-term sales and

    operations initiatives.

    Perform
    analysis regarding internal sales vs. external market demand to ensure

    appropriate sales resource allocation between customer segments.

    Assist
    the management team with follow-up on key action plans for operations as

    well
    as sales.

    Qualifications

    The
    following experiences are required:

    1. Minimum
    5 years of finance, accounting or marketing analysis preferably with a
    construction company.

    Excellent commercial understanding
    with an ability to partner closely with internal and external customers.

    Ability to work independently and
    think strategically with management team.

    Financial analysis acumen and
    general business knowledge. Proven success in understanding and interpreting
    results, as well as formulating effective recommendations.

    Proven track record of process
    improvement.

    2. Analytical Skills:

    High
    degree of analytical ability, including valuation, business performance
    analysis.

    Verifies
    assumptions or interpretations by checking with credible sources or through
    first-hand observation and data-gathering.

    Skilled
    in analyzing financial statements and researching significant
    fluctuations/variances or performance trends.

    Experience
    in compiling and coordinating capital and operating budgeting and
    forecasting. Experience and knowledge of
    financial economic valuation methods.

    3. Consulting Skills:

    Recommends/advises
    management on the probability of results/success for a specific action.

    4. Project Management Skills:

    Must
    be able to work independently and multi-task in a fast paced environment.

    Ability
    to plan, organize and complete projects.

    5. Interpersonal Interaction:

    Quickly
    establishes rapport with internal and external customers to develop trust that
    their concerns are heard and responded to promptly.

    Shows an ability to communicate analysis in a way others can understand the key takeaways and impacts on their decisions

    ispossible at certain times or in
    certain positions. Expresses great

    coordinates appropriate follow-up.

    The
    following skills or experiences are helpful and preferred, but not required

    • Knowledge of accounting procedures
      and systems
    • Construction industry.
    • Masters in Business Administration.


    Don't Be Fooled

    The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
