Position Description

About the Role Output Solutions Division of Fiserv (FOS) is seeking an AP Specialist, Stafford, Texas Operations, reporting to the Manager of Accounting. The position is based in Stafford TX at one of our major production and administrative facilities.

The AP Specialist will work in close partnership with FOS Business Accounting (BA) and FOS business leadership to drive profitable business growth and to provide strong general ledger accountability as well as other special projects assigned.

AP Specialist will be responsible for assisting with general ledger close entries, general ledger reconciliations, and cash management inventory control.¬  Some ad-hoc reporting and analysis will be required as well as other duties related to the accounts payable accounting of plant activities.

This position will require some travel to St. Louis, MO where training will take place.¬  There will be minimal travel after that.

Essential Job Responsibilities:¬ ¬ 

?Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment

?Process 3 way P.O. matching invoices, up to 100 plus line items, Up to 400 invoices a week.

?Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms

?Process check requests

?Vendor Master file maintenance

?Respond to all vendor inquiries

?Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies

?Assist in month end closing

?Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting¬ ¬  practices

?Assist with other projects as needed

?Very busy environment, so accuracy is highly important

?Investigate and resolve problems associated with processing of invoices and purchase orders

?Reconciles various accounts by identifying errors in posting or omissions by applying appropriate accounting standards

?Perform other duties as required to support Accounting Department

?Some basic journal entries

?Ability to meet deadlines

?Must be able to work overtime

  • Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Accounts Payable experience

  • High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred

Travel Required:

  • Some in first month or two (up to 50%).¬  Minimal after that.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
